Rue

This perennial, evergreen shrub is a native of Europe but Rue is easily cultivated in most soils and conditions. It prefers a poor, rather dry soil, and will usually survive all but the hardest winter frosts in a reasonably sheltered position. Rue has a long and interesting history. In many Oriental countries it is grown in the belief that it will protect the household from misfortune.
