Gynaecological conditions - All woman and girls diseases

We shall now come to the diseases which are peculiar to females. Of them, the chief disorders are connected with menstruation, discharge or white liquid laced with pus, diseases connected with pregnancy and child birth, prolapse of the uterus, infertility, and frigidity. Let us tlrst take the disorders connected with menstruation.

Menstruation is a periodic change occurring in females, and also in some higher apes, which consists of discharge of blood fromthe cavity of the womb. It begins between the ages of twelve to thirteen years in warm climates and later in cold regions. The duration of each menstrual period varies slightly from 28 to 30 days.The menstnJal flow stopswhen a woman becomes pregnant, and stops completely around the age of forty-four or fifty years when it is known as the menopause or the grand climacteric.
