How to Get Rid of High Blood Pressure

Hypertension or high blood pressure, while it is more generally known, is regarded as a quiet killer. It is a disease of the modern age. The fast step of life and the mental and physical pressures caused by the progressively more industrialised and metropolitan environments have a role to play in the increase in blood pressure. High blood pressure is a serious disease, which affects almost 65 million adults in the United States. High blood pressure is dangerous because it makes the heart work harder to pump blood to the body. Normal blood pressure is less than 130/85. High blood pressure is higher than 140/90. High blood pressure generally has no symptoms, but it can cause severe troubles such as stroke, heart failure, heart attack, and kidney failure. You can control high blood pressure by vigorous lifestyle habits and taking medicines, if necessary.

Hypertension is the medical term for high blood pressure. Blood pressure is the measurement of the pressure or strength of blood push against blood vessel walls. The heart pumps blood into the arteries (blood vessels), which carry the blood throughout the body. The pressure is determined by the force and quantity of blood pumped and the size and suppleness of the arteries.  There are two measurements used to estimate blood pressure: Systolic pressure is the blood pressure, which is exerted when the heart beats and forces blood around the body. Diastolic pressure is the measure of blood pressure when the heart is resting between beats. High blood pressure usually develops over many years, and it affects almost each one ultimately.
