Sunburn consequences from too much sun or sun- coequal exposure. UVR exposure can come from a range of sources, excluding sun, tanning bed, phototherapy lamp, and arc lamp. An ultraviolet light cause alters in the surface and in the deeper layers of the skin. It decreases the stretchiness of the skin and can effect untimely aging and wrinkling of the skin, as well as the formation of age spots. Deeper in the skin, it causes alters in the structure of cells, and augments the hazard of skin cancers. Ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation causes sunburns and enlarges the risk of two types of skin cancer: basal-cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.
Nearly one third of US adults have sunburn per year, and about two thirds of US children have a sunburn each summer. Certain light-skinned and fair-haired people are at larger risk of sunburn injury. Prior hot sun exposure and past skin injury are risks for sunburn, even in limited exposure to the sun. However, usual limited exposure to UV radiation produces helpful vitamin D in the skin. Certain light-skinned and fair-haired people are at extreme risk of sunburn injury. Sunburn can cause a mild fever and a headache. Lie down in a cool, quiet room to alleviate the headache. A headache may be caused by dehydration.
Other symptoms are edema, itching, red and/or peeling skin, hives and nausea. Also, a little amount of warm is given off from the burn caused by the absorption of blood in the healing method, giving a warm feeling to the affected part. Sunburn is better prevented than treated. Drink lots of water and make sure to drink at least 2 glasses of water before going in the sun. A hot shower instantly after mild sunburn can bring about peeling sooner and rid you quickly of discomfort. Vitamin E, one of the antioxidants, can be taken frequently as part of a daily vitamin and mineral appendages or spread as in an ointment on sunburn.
Vitamin C is another antioxidant that will assist prevents harsh damage from sunburn and condenses its effects. Selenium is a mineral that will aid fight sunburn. Try taking a cool shower or bath or placing wet, cold wash rags on the burn. Good old plain aloe vera will assist the healing and have cooling feeling. A paste made of neem stems if dispensed on the skin, helps a lot in curing the burn fast. Sandalwood powder paste prepared with rose water, watermelon juice or cucumber juice helps a lot. Buttermilk too is a good option to heal sunburn. You can wash off the effaced skin with the chilled buttermilk to heal it.
